Christmas Cards

Well I know some people all over the world have been making there christmas cards for months. Myself I am more of a last minute girl, but have just made a list and actually have 10 cards that I cannot be without so today is my day for making all my christmas cards. I will return later on tonight when they are all complete and let you know how they turned out.

Also if I create any Make the Cut files along the way I will  share them too.

Cards made using my make the cut files.

I have put three christmas cards together using the cut files that I created recently and I thought that I would share them with you. Make the cut makes these cards so simple to create. I love it so much.

Back to blogging at last

It has been quite some time since I have been on my blog, but I have missed keeping track of my creations so I have given myself a new look blog and intend to make it my new years resolution to keep it up to date. Since September I have been running a small card making class at my local church and we have a few members now which is great. I have also been creating cards for birthdays new babies etc. I have purchased a gypsy and I am getting to grips with that too. I am hoping to share a couple of files each week along with images of what the finished product looks like using the different cartridges I have.

Rat pack 18th card with Hannah Montana Cartridge

I was asked to make an 18th Birthday Card for a young man who is a club singer, He sings swing and loves the ratpack so this is what I came up with. I already had a Kanban topper to use and I used the Hannah Montana Cartridge to create his name, the number 18 and the treble clef. I think it turned out really cute. Because I had used dimensionals on the front of the card a regular envelope would not be suitable so I also made an Envelope and cut out a Giant Treble Clef to attach to the front. The strip across the top of the card is adhesive ribbon that has musical notes on it.

Print and Cut, Make the Cut and Pink Petticoat

I have been reading a lot abut the new Provocraft Machine and all about how it can print and cut. I have always been able to do this as I have a craft Robo but if you don't know how the registration marks work it can be tricky. After reading cleversomedays blog about the hinge technique, and Make the Cut, I decided that I was going to have a play.

I used some images that I had purchased from Pink Petticoat a while back and followed the instructional video and was able to cut perfect circles around my image and then following this create perfect mats for them to be attached too. I had not used my images much before as I am rubbish with a craft knife and so being able to do this has opened so many possibilities to use my digital stamps and have them cut perfectly.

Here are my first results.

I think that they are rather smart for a first attempt.

Everton Football Card

I made a card for a friend of mine who was turning 50. She is a mad Everton FC fan so I made her this card.

I used My Craft Studio to design the backing paper and decoupage and Make the Cut to create the Happy Birthday and the 50.

A couple of new cards

Here are some cards that I have created for Orders this week.
For the first card I used A child's year cartridge and Design studio and for the second I used Doodlecharms for the babies face and Make the cut for the name.

Nesties made in Inkscape

I created some Nested shapes in Inkscape and think that they are perfect for matting and Layering or Journalling on cards and scrapbooks so I thought that I would share them with you.

For the Boys

I find it really hard when I am trying to make a boys card and I don't have any suitable images for the front of my cards. I decided as I am "dog sitting" and I dont have my cricut I would spend some time making some mtc files for boys cards. There are various pictures, that I think would suffice. I hope that you enjoy them and find them useful. Also below each image is a link to thecorresponding MTC file.

Butterfly wall.

I am so pleased with how my Butterfly wall art has turned out. I recently saw a post on a blog of a lady who had created this effect on her wall and I just had to try it. I cannot recall who's blog it was sorry, but if somebody could point me in the right direction I am more than willing to add a link to her blog. and give her the credit I think that it has made my craft room wall look beautiful.

Teacher Cards

I used the Cricut Paisley Cartridge Card function to create teacher cards for my childrens Teachers. I think that they are quite cute. I used make the cut to create a small 5x5 envelope too.

Teacher Sweetie Jars

Here are the jars that I created for my sons Teachers. I think that they are just as cute as the little girl jars. They turned out really nice. I will definitely be buying more files from Treasure Box Designs as they were so easy to follow.

My new toy arrived

I am so excited, My Cricut Expression arrived on Monday and I just love it. I only had the personal cricut before this and I cannot believe the difference in the size. I am so excited using it to make some cards this evening, But yesterday I used it to create a card for an order.

I used Make the Cut to create the file for Dopey and then cut it on my cricut. The card and the mtc file can be found below.

Some Layered frames for MTC.

I was playing about Last Night and have created some Layered frames similar to the star frame used in my fathers Day cards. They take three simple cuts and look really effective when they are together. You can find them below along with a picture of how they look.

I hope that you like them. If you create anything using these frames please post back so that I can see.

Homer Simpson card and MTC file.

Here is a Birthday Card I created for my childrens Grandad. He loves the Simpsons in particular Homer, so I wanted to use him on the card. This is how the finished card turned out. I used Make the cut to create the card using a colouring page that I found on the Internet.
If you would like it the Make the cut file for this card can be found here. please remember that all these files are for Personal Use Only.

My Fathers Day cards are finally finished.

Here are some finally finished Fathers Day Cards. I created the "Route 66" card using "Cliff's Clubhouse Cards" from svg cuts. I love this set of files as the cards are so easy to create.

The star cards were created using Make the cut and Basic shapes. I did scraplift the idea from a project I spotted on everyday cricut and I used the Nursery Rhymes cartridge to create the words and the "Over the Moon" phrase.
Finally the Everton Card was created using My Craft Studio. I created a decoupage sheet and a Backing paper sheet of badges to match.
I think that they all turned out nice. I will definitely use the star again I created again as it is so simple to make and looks really sweet. It is also an easy card to duplicate. Here is another one I created in Slightly different colours.

Classic Car Birthday Card

Here is a card I made using Cliffs Clubhouse Cards from Svgcuts.com. I think it turned out pretty well. I decided to make an easel card rather than the shaped card. It is for my Father In Laws 52nd Birthday. Hopefully he will like it.

I also used Make the Cut and Classic Car font from Dafont.com. Also I am entering this into the crafty little place challenge.
